About the Course:

Flow Assurance for Pipeline System adalah kursus yang memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang fenomena aliran yang dapat membantu peserta menghindari masalah seperti pembentukan hidrat, gelombang tekanan (surge), atau kegagalan aliran cairan dengan viskositas tinggi. Kursus ini dirancang untuk mengatasi tantangan operasional yang sering dihadapi dalam pengelolaan pipa, seperti korosi, slugging, deposisi lilin, dan multiphase fluids. Dengan memahami penyebab dan solusi yang tersedia, peserta dapat meningkatkan keandalan sistem pipa mereka serta memastikan kelancaran operasional.

Kursus empat hari ini berfokus pada aspek-aspek penting dalam operasi pipa, termasuk pencegahan dan mitigasi masalah flow assurance. Peserta akan mempelajari pendekatan desain dan solusi operasional untuk mengatasi berbagai tantangan, dengan penekanan pada aplikasi praktis dan studi kasus nyata.

  • Menilai perilaku fisik dari tantangan utama flow assurance: korosi, pembentukan hidrat, perilaku transien, dan deposisi lilin.
  • Mengevaluasi integritas mekanis pipa.
  • Mengevaluasi efektivitas operasi pigging dan sistem deteksi kebocoran.

  2. Fluid Property Data and Phase Determination
    Understanding fluid characteristics and phase identification.
  3. Single and Multiphase Fluid Flow Analysis
    Techniques for analyzing single and multiphase fluid flow.
  4. Slug Formation and Prediction
    Identification and prediction of slug formation in pipelines.
  5. Surge Analysis
    Understanding surge phenomena and mitigation strategies.
  6. Corrosion (Internal and External)
    Examination of corrosion types and prevention methods.
  7. Hydrate Formation and Prevention
    Strategies to mitigate hydrate formation in pipelines.
  8. Wax Formation and Deposition
    Methods to prevent and remediate wax buildup.
  9. Asphaltene Prediction, Scale Precipitation, and Sand Production
    Analysis of potential solid formation and its impact on pipelines.
  10. Pigging Operations
    Techniques for pipeline cleaning and maintenance.
  11. Leak Detection Methods and DCS (Distributed Control Systems)
    Modern approaches to leak detection, replacing outdated SCADA with advanced DCS systems. Includes startup/shutdown considerations.

ABOUT THE COURSE LEADER:

Prof. Endra Joelianto, Ir., Ph.D., SMIEEE: Control Engineering Expert

Prof. Endra Joelianto, Ir., Ph.D., SMIEEE is an expert in control engineering. His prominent research areas include Hybrid Control Systems, Discrete Event Control Systems, Petri Nets Analysis and Applications in PLC, Robust PID Controller, Advanced Process Control, and Industrial Automation using PLC/DCS. He earned his first degree (Ir.) in Engineering Physics from ITB in 1990 and a Ph.D. in Control Engineering from The Australian National University in 2001.

Currently, Prof. Endra serves as the Coordinator of Intelligent Control and Automation and is the founder of the PLC Research Group at the Instrumentation and Control Laboratory (LINK), Department of Engineering Physics, ITB. He also established and directed the Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center at Maranatha Christian University, Bandung, collaborating with PT. Schneider Electric Indonesia, PT. OMRON Corporation Japan, and Invensys WONDERWARE.

He has led various training projects, including the TPSDP Retooling Program Batch II-DIKNAS in 2004 for the “Industrial Automation Using PLC” training program and similar projects in 2005 at ITB focusing on PLC for Industrial Control and Automation. Prof. Endra has also attended multiple professional training programs on PLC, DCS, and Instrument Calibration, such as Fieldbus Foundation Technology in Singapore (2002) and Advanced Process Control by ASPEN Tech., Jakarta (2005).

As an instructor, Prof. Endra has conducted training sessions for universities, public audiences, and in-house corporate programs. His expertise has benefited institutions and companies in sectors like petrochemicals, oil and gas, and cement production. These include PT. Pupuk Kujang, PT. Semen Gresik, PT. Petrokimia Gresik, Pertamina, British Petroleum, and Indonesia Power-Paiton, among others. Prof. Endra is widely recognized for his contributions to advancing industrial automation and process control in Indonesia.
