Since 1983\, he has been a senior lecturer at UPN Veteran Yogyakarta\, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in petroleum engineering. His expertise extends to other institutions\, including Trisakti University in Jakarta and the University of Riau\, where he lectures on advanced topics in geology\, petroleum\, and chemical engineering. Beyond academia\, Prof. Herianto is a trusted consultant and trainer for leading oil and gas companies across Indonesia. \nWith over three decades of experience\, Prof. Herianto has contributed to significant national energy projects\, including geothermal exploration and oil and gas regulatory frameworks. He has served as a consultant for key organizations such as BP Migas\, PLN Geothermal\, and the National Energy Council. Notable projects include assessments of oil and gas potential in Arafura and Savu and geothermal development in Central Java and Ambon. \nBetween 2000 and 2018\, he was an instructor for international drilling certifications and has trained professionals from industry giants like Pertamina\, Chevron\, and Total Indonesie. His training has covered more than 50 specialized topics\, helping companies optimize operations and develop innovative energy solutions. \nIn leadership roles\, Prof. Herianto has served as the head of PT. Riau Petroleum and the Petroleum Engineering Department at UPN Veteran Yogyakarta.
