DESCRIPTION:BACKGROUND & ABOUT THE COURSE:\nDCS (Distributed Control System) adalah suatu pengembangan sistem kontrol dengan menggunakan komputer dan alat elektronik lainnya agar didapat suatu pengontrol suatu loop system lebih terpadu dan dapat dilakukan operator yang terlatih\, dengan cepat dan mudah. DCS dapat digunakan untuk mengontrol proses/peralatan suatu plant dalam skala menengah sampai besar. \nUntuk mempermudah penggunaan\, DCS sudah menyertakan tampilan grafik (gambar analogi peralatan) dan software untuk konfigurasi control. DCS dapat dipakai untuk lebih dari 1 workstation dan dapat dikonfigurasi di workstation atau PC. Komunikasi dapat melalui jaringan kabel atau optic. \nMengingat kompleksitasnya\, maka diperlukan penguasaan yang baik untuk dapat menjalankannya. He earned his Engineering Physics degree from ITB in 1990 and a PhD in Control Engineering from The Australian National University in 2001. Prof. Endra coordinates Intelligent Control and Automation at ITB and founded the PLC Research Group and Schneider-OMRON PLC Training Center\, fostering collaboration with Schneider Electric\, OMRON Corporation\, and Invensys WONDERWARE. \nHe has led national retooling projects and participated in professional training on PLC\, DCS\, and calibration across Asia and Africa. As an instructor\, he provides training in instrumentation and process control to universities and major companies in the petrochemical\, oil and gas\, and manufacturing sectors\, including PERTAMINA\, British Petroleum\, and PT.
