Background & About the Course:
In coal-fired power plants (PLTU), the plant is divided into three main areas: Main Power Equipment, Balance of Plant (BOP), and Coal Handling. Main Power Equipment includes the boiler, turbine, generator, transformer, and condenser. BOP encompasses critical systems such as the Water Treatment Plant, Water Pump House, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Start-Up Boiler, Fuel Oil Pump House, Chlorine Plant, and Circulating Water Pump. The scope of BOP equipment may vary depending on the plant’s design.
A properly functioning BOP system is crucial to maintaining the overall operation of the PLTU. Any issues within the BOP can lead to operational disruptions. Thus, operators and technicians must have a thorough understanding of BOP operations and maintenance procedures. Continuous supervision of BOP systems is necessary to ensure optimal plant performance. This course provides in-depth knowledge of BOP operations, focusing on best practices, risk identification, and system optimization to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
